Housing
Student housing
All student housing is off-campus and is made up of various options located throughout the island. There is a wide variety of housing to satisfy any student's needs. Housing stock includes apartments, houses, hotels, and dorm-like facilities. There are many housing options within walking distance of campus. The university's bus service shuttles students to and from campus who live outside of walking distance. Apartments are fully furnished, so students only need to bring bedding, towels, their personal needs, and clothing. Groceries are readily available at local stores. The University Housing Department assists students, faculty, and staff members in locating and securing appropriate housing accommodations. The Housing Department maintains a database of housing accommodations to fit every need and budget.
Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà maintains a housing department on the St. Kitts campus which helps students secure the right accommodations to suit their needs. 5th Semester students attending the Portland, Maine Campus will find housing information here.

Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà Housing Department
The Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà Housing Department staff works closely with students to assist in the selection of housing. The Housing Department's hours of operation are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. Students must secure housing before arrival. Because there are several schools on St. Kitts whose students are vying for apartments, it is recommended that accepted students select an apartment as soon as their financing has been secured.

Additional information
Roommates
Students interested in finding a roommate should let the University Housing Department know that. With student permission, the Housing Department will share contact information so students may talk with each other before deciding to room together.
Pets
Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà highly recommends that pets not be brought to St. Kitts. The University does not allow pets on campus. Many landlords do not allow pets in their rental units. The Government of St. Kitts has strict regulations about bringing pets onto the island and will require pets to be properly inoculated. Contact the housing department for further details.
Availability
Once an apartment is selected, the student should immediately contact the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà Housing Department which will verify with the landlord whether the unit is still available. If the unit is available, the Housing Department will immediately email the student a housing deposit form.
Security deposits
To secure the apartment, Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà will pay the landlord the security deposit on behalf of the student. To do so, Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà must receive the deposit form and required security deposit from the student. It is recommended that the payment be made with a money order or certified bank draft.
The deposit form and security deposit should be sent to:
University of Medicine and Health Sciences, St. Kitts
N.A. Administrative Office
275 7th Ave, 26th Floor
New York, NY 10001
ATTN: Accounting Department
No apartment is considered to be rented until Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà receives the deposit form and required security deposit.
