    John Doelp

    John McL. Doelp has worked at all levels of the music industry as an artist and performer, arranger, engineer, producer, and record company executive.  In his 39 years at Sony Music Entertainment, John has served as Senior VP of Epic Records, Executive VP of Sony 550 Music, and President of Crescent Moon Records, (a joint venture with Sony Music Entertainment and Emilio and Gloria Estefan) as well as Senior Vice President of Artist & Repertoire at Columbia Records/Sony Music Entertainment.  He is currently a consultant for Columbia Records and Sony Music. 

    Throughout his career, he has worked with new and established artists including Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, John Legend, Hozier, Leon Bridges, Gloria Estefan, Harry Connick, Jr., Grace VanderWaal, Indigo Girls, Pearl Jam, Spin Doctors, Basia, Jon B, Frankie J and Ricky Martin.  John has been executive producer and producer for Celine Dion since the beginning of her career (over 35 years) during which time Celine has sold over 250 million albums.  John has also worked on the movie soundtracks for “Titanic” (“My Heart Will Go On”), “Beauty & The Beast” (both animated and live-action), “Sleepless In Seattle”, Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” and “Deadpool 2” and oversaw the Cast Album for "MJ the Musical."  Releases that he has been involved with have earned 25 Grammy nominations and have won 11 Grammys, 2 Oscars, and 1 Tony nomination.  John was also Associate Producer for the Michael Jackson “Xscape” album and was Production Executive for the Spike Lee-directed Michael Jackson “Bad” Documentary as well as Co-Executive Producer on several Celine Dion CBS television network specials.

    Doelp is a 40-year voting member of the Recording Academy (Grammys), served three years on the Board of Governor, one year as an Advisor, and past Vice President of the New York Chapter Board.  He is currently the Co-Head of the NY Chapter Professional Development Committee.

    Doelp holds a Master's Degree from Columbia University and served on the Board of Trustees for Berklee College of Music for 9 years.  Since 2008 John has been an active member of the Berklee President's Advisory Council.  Currently a member of the Board of Trustees for the University of Medicine and Health Sciences which he has been a part of for over 6 years.  He also does guest lectures at Columbia University, NYU, and Berklee College of Music.
