Whats your favorite lymphocyte? T-cells or B-cells? Immunology will give you a whole semester to figure out this important question. TA Samantha DeFilippis will teach you everything you need to know to do well in this low-unit but high-workload class, on Dextrocardia Podcast Episode 12, available beginning Tuesday, February 16, 2021.

Samantha was born and raised in Toronto, Canada where she completed her Honors Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto and is currently studying at Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ. Samantha has always loved helping others and getting involved in her community. Before starting medical school, she volunteered at a hospital in Toronto for about a year. She voyaged to Honduras where she was part of a team of other volunteers and doctors that provided care to rural Hondurans.

Samantha knew she wanted to help out fellow medical students in some way, as she loves giving advice, socializing and meeting new people. Thus, Samantha was a TA for both physical diagnosis and immunology, a mentor, class representative and part of several other clubs on campus. Aside from school and work, Samantha loves to play soccer; she played on the varsity team for her university. Samantha also values time spent with her friends and family. Contact her on Instagram at or email her at sdefilippis@umhs-sk.net

Dextrocardia features interviews with fellow medical students, medical school faculty, and medical practitioners on everything from how to succeed in medical school, to fighting racial inequality in medicine and how medical students are working in the BLM (Black Lives Matter) movement.

Episodes are released every other Tuesday. Dextrocardia is available on Apple Podcast, Spotify and Podbean.
