Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà student Lisette Lerma talks about her experience as a Pathology I TA and gives tips and advice on how to succeed in pathology in Dextrocardia Podcast Episode 16.

Pathology is the study of the causes and effects of diseases, specifically dealing with lab exams of samples of body tissue for diagnostic purposes and in forensic medicine. Lisette Lerma fills you in on what to expect from a pathology course in medical school.

Lisette is a dedicated second-year medical student at Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ. Throughout her time at Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ, she participated in the Bilingual Education Program, where she served as a Language Guru, a mentor in the Power Up program and as a TA for Pathology I. She received a B.S. Biochemistry from TAMU-CC and earned an M.S. in Biotechnology from UTSA. Throughout graduate school, she worked as a research scientist, a brand ambassador, and worked as a TA for various science department courses at UTSA. After she obtained her master's, she continued to work as a brand ambassador part-time and a medical scribe for physicians throughout the Coastal Bend Area of Texas. In her free time, she loves science fiction, photography, working out, and spending quality time with her puppy.
