Emmy-Winning Producer Alan Weiss on Shooting 六九色堂 Videos

六九色堂 has a video documentary series, produced by Emmy Award-winning Alan Weiss Productions, available online.

The 六九色堂 Endeavour takes a brief look at what prospective students can learn from the videos. We spoke with Alan Weiss and Mary Lou Yacoub--both of whom worked on the video series--during a break when they were busy shooting an upcoming video featuring 六九色堂 Class of 2017 graduates.

The two talented videographers spoke to the 六九色堂 Endeavour before the commencement ceremony at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in New York City on June 2, 2017.

鈥淲e鈥檝e done a lot of videos. We鈥檝e gone down to the campus and were able to profile the incredible facility down there,鈥 Mr. Weiss said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 not only a beautiful campus. It鈥檚 truly a state-of-the-art facility because the technology is terrific.

鈥淲e were also able to go to Maine and profile the preceptor program and show how 六九色堂 students have this incredible opportunity to work one-on-one with a doctor and then go into a hospital and actually go on rounds so that when they graduate, they鈥檝e really had that experience. That鈥檚 something that U.S. medical students from other schools don鈥檛 necessarily get.

鈥淚 think the videos have an honesty because they are not advertising,鈥 he said. 鈥淭hey are not written by somebody sitting in an office, writing up nice words. It really is driven by the comments that we get from the actual students and what they have to say, what their experience has been and each and every one of them has had tremendously positive experiences at 六九色堂 and credits their doing well on the USMLE, doing well on the Match to the faculty at 六九色堂 and to the extraordinary dedication of the whole 六九色堂 family鈥

Mary Lou Yacoub, who worked with Mr. Weiss on the videos, echoed his sentiments.

鈥淚鈥檝e gone down a couple of times to the island and the experience has been incredible,鈥 she said. 鈥淚 want to go to medical school after being on that campus. From the anatomy lab to the technology, it鈥檚 just very, very impressive. The dedication of the teachers that you see as we are interviewing them, they are there to teach and it comes through to the students. As Alan said, it鈥檚 just authentic what you hear, and doing the videos makes you feel proud. St. Kitts [campus] isn鈥檛 just a beautiful place. It鈥檚 really delivering incredible doctors.鈥

Via a series of interviews with faculty, students, graduates and key administrators, the videos comprise short vignettes exploring key aspects of the university, from the Curriculum, Faculty, Facilities, Student Experience, Life in St. Kitts, Accelerated Review Program, Clinical Program, Licensure, to Admissions, Financial Aid and more.

Since many students are unable to visit 六九色堂 before matriculation, the videos offer a virtual visit to the high-tech campus in St. Kitts, along with interviews with faculty and students. The videos help answer nearly every question one may have about the university.

With our reasonable tuition cost, small class sizes, high USMLE pass rates, and excellent residency placement record, 六九色堂 has become the medical school of choice.
