The American Medical Women鈥檚 Association chapter of 六九色堂 introduced an educational session last week called the AMWA Clinical Study Lecture Series. This lecture is the first of two this semester and will hopefully continue on into future semesters. With the help of Dr. Doherty, 20 students were presented with clinical case studies that they would discuss and diagnose. Two students, Brian Brownell and Priscilla Bigol, volunteered as mock patients by acting out symptoms characteristic of illnesses like Parkinson鈥檚 Disease and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Students from all semesters joined us in the auditorium Tuesday, October 14, 2014, for this learning activity. The feedback was all very positive and enthusiastic. EBS 3 student, Sonia Sugumar, claimed, 鈥淚 was really impressed with how I was able to handle the clinical case. I knew quite quickly what the illness was and I was able to come up with good questions to prove it.鈥
Other testimonies claimed that the exercise was interactive and educational. Students enjoyed the opportunity to work through a clinical case with their colleagues and apply their accumulated knowledge.
The next lecture in the series will be hosted on November 11, 2014 by Dr. Nagappa.
